Given all of our talk here at FIX about the value of interdisciplinary interactions and accelerating serendipity through adjacency, we thought we ought to kick-off the new year by practicing what we preach! Effective immediately, FIX is opening its doors, looking for the right group of people or organizations with whom to share our studio space. We are open to a wide range of studio-mates but would value anyone involved in some form with community-building, design, economics, place-making, retail...Like we said, we're open to a wide range of disciplines. One can't plan for serendipity, after all.
We have room for approximately 4-8 additional new studio-mates total. We envision costs to be on a sliding scale and discussed individually. If you have interest or know of someone who may be interested, please forward this note or contact us at the info listed below. Also below is a brief description of who we are and the space that's available.
About Our Studio:
Our studio is approximately one-thousand square feet in an old heavy-timber building filled with other small creative businesses including architects, landscape architects, graphic designers, painters, gaming companies and even a wine importer. We're located in lower Queen Anne, right across the street from the Boat Street Cafe, Rain Fitness and the P.I. Globe. Our view is to the west, looking directly at the Globe and bits of Puget Sound. We believe in the open office model to enable easy communication. And because wall space is a premium we devote to sketching and brainstorming, the studio is one large open space with desks facing inward and walls covered in large drawing pads and post-it notes. There's a kitchenette where we take our coffee-making and wine-pouring seriously. And, of course, there's storage space, hi-speed internet, land-lines, printers, scanners, etc. We're on many major bus routes and have lots of on-street (both metered and un-metered). There are also several parking lots with monthly rates on surrounding blocks.
